I Still Have Trouble Pronouncing Certain Words

I am 32 years old and I am still being corrected on how to pronounce certain words. I did not think I would still have this problem.

Here are the following words I have recently been corrected on:

• Access  (not a-sess, but ack-sess or ax-sess).
• Candidate (not cannidate, but candidate).  I should have known better.
• Foliage (not foi-lage, but fo-liage, like how it is spelled).
• Illinois (not Ill-i-noise, but Ill-i-noi).

There are several other words I have recently been corrected on, but I can't remember what they are now.

I have accepted the fact that I will always mispronounce the words jewelry and soldier. Try as I might, I can't say these words. I try to avoid saying these words. I will say necklace, bracelet, earrings, and rings instead of jewelry. For soldiers, I may say "members of the military" or "people who fight in the war".

I think just about everyone has trouble saying the word, rural. Try it. Ru-rawl. Ruuu-wall. Ru-all.  It is a weird word.
